I originate from Israel and helped with Medical and Healthcare program for a period of three months.
My stay in Uganda with UVF was truly priceless. I entered with overwhelming anticipation and left with unimaginable clinical and health experience, bucket-list attractions checked off my list, and lifelong friends. Being a volunteer is the best way you can give back to the unprivileged. I got the opportunity to learn a lot, the environment truly fosters your interests as long as you pursue them, whether it's spending all day in the community, health centres focusing on ward work, or visiting other departments. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is willing to step outside of his/her comfort zone and seeks growth outside of the typical educational/career path; you will not regret it, good luck folks.
